Benson Waterfront is an oasis.

As well as the easily accessible moorings, there is also the Waterfront cafe / restaurant and a pristine shower / toilet / launderette area available for your use.

We are moored on a pontoon right on the River Thames. You have access to this pontoon throughout your holiday. The Waterfront Cafe is popular and you can be assured of a lovely lunch / dinner whenever you're passing through. Benson village is a 15 minute walk away where there is all you would need for a quick 'top up' food or drink wise!

Oxford is approximately a 4 hour cruise away - a must to explore. Towns such as Wallingford (downstream) and Abingdon (upstream) are also great places to moor up and also great for restaurants and shops.

The River Thames is also very popular with anglers. If you want to do some fishing whilst on holiday, you must have a license. The link below shows where you can fish, and where is free.

There is a fishing tackle shop on site at Benson Waterfront, where you can purchase a day licence.

Also at Benson you can hire a canoe for the day if you fancy doing somethig a bit different.

There are a total of forty-four locks along the River Thames.  The first is St. John’s Lock near the Town of Lechlade, Gloustershire.  The last lock is at Teddington in the County of Greater London. From 1984, the World’s Poohsticks Championship has been held at Day’s Lock.  Pooh Sticks is a game deriving from A.A. Milne’s book “The House at Pooh Corner”, in which contestants drop a stick into the water simultaneously from a bridge, and whoever’s stick appears on the other side of the bridge first is the winner.
